Team Spotlight : A thank you to the co-creation team

Within the last years, the co-creation platform have known a progressive and impressive transformation, following the brand identity change of Decathlon. The team behind this remarkable adaptation gave us a retrospective of the project from 2022 to 2025, and their impressions on working with Vitamin Play through the years.

Caroline Thomas

Digital Product Designer

"Starting from an established and structured library saves an incredible amount of time. It's like working with a set of pre-built LEGO bricks, allowing us to focus on the user journey rather than UI details."

One key takeaway from the Co-Creation experience is that Vitamin Play must work as a product itself—with its users being Decathlon's internal teams. For the design system to thrive, there must be a continuous feedback loop

New Android theme : Material 3 Decathlon theme

To support faster design and development while we work on the full integration of native Vitamin Play components, we're introducing a temporary but powerful solution: Decathlon-themed Material Design 3 (M3) components.

These are standard Android M3 components  that have been visually adapted to reflect the Decathlon brand. What does that mean?

This solution enables teams to build Android experiences that are both visually consistent and scalable — while still feeling "Decathlon".

Why are we using this temporary solution?

While we work on building fully native Vitamin Play components for Android, this themed M3 version helps you:

  • Develop faster without waiting
  • Ensure designs look and feel like Decathlon
  • Keep consistency across your products in the meantime

It's a stepping stone — giving you what you need now, while we build what you'll need next.

What should you keep in mind?

These components are not native Vitamin Play components, because of that, some differences may appear compared to the final VP components.

These components are only temporary solutions to problems that need quick solving, to give us the time we need to develop the native components
